My latest trips
by Fritz Storm
Taiwan

So finally home after a long working period. Been to Taiwan to open two new "Espressamente" coffee shops in "Taipei 101" one of the highest buildings in the world. 2 days with lots of media covering and barista training, a good combination.

Every time I go to Asia I come home full of admiration for the hard work and effort they put into the events we are doing. It is amazing to see how much media covering they get to these coffee events, and how interested they are in learning new things.

Germany

I also went to Germany to Probat-Werke, to make a judge certification program for the German judges. So now Germany have a very uniform group of judges to take care of the German championships next year.

What was more natural than staying there for another day and learn about roasting from the leading company! It was a very interesting day with a lot of roasting and cupping.
WBC 2008, Copenhagen
by Fritz Storm
Just finished the WBC event for this year.

With A record high number of competitors of 51 countries, the competition this year have given us many interesting new things to look at.

New countries from Africa and South America was very nice to watch, they bring something very authentic to the competition.

Together with the Judge committee I have, again this year, been organising the judge calibration and schedule for the competition.

The work as a head judge has as always been very interesting and inspiring, to see and taste creations from al over the world helps me keep informed about what is going on.

My training results this year has been great.

4. place with Daniel Remheden from Sweden
8. place with Kyle Glanville from the United States,

Both showed showed very good barista skills and extremely nice personalities with high coffee knowledge. Exactly the things we have been talking about to promote, simply because they have it!

11. place with Attila Molnár, one of the new competitors in the WBC from Hungary. He did a great job, and maybe the best performance from a "new" competitor in the WBC.

Very relaxed and professional performance. He did all the right things we have been training. Well done.

Please have a look at my other training achievements over the years.
